Become a better cook

With a wealth of experience in the catering industry and years of teaching in different community settings, Sam leads cooking classes to suit all abilities. Specialising in South East Asian cooking styles, you will learn about the origins of the recipes as well as the different techniques involved in their preparation. Koi promotes cooking from scratch and minimising food waste. If you have any special dietary requirements, contact us to discuss how we can adapt recipes to suit you. Most of the recipes we have devised can be adapted to gluten free and vegan diets, or a suitable alternative will be created.

Public Classes

Public Classes

Koi hold regular cooking classes in partnership with Cracking Good Food every three months. In the 4 hours class we teach you how to make traditional Cantonese Dim Sum, and there is always plenty of food to take away to share with friends and family. To find out when the next class is taking place and book onto the class visit the Cracking Good Food Cantonese page.

As a community minded company we also run ad hoc workshops with charities and community groups. Keep an eye out for upcoming classes on our social media pages and events page.

Classes are open to ages 12 upwards but under 16’s would need to be accompanied by a responsible adult; in which case 2 places would need to be booked. Please mention during booking if you have any additional support needs or dietary requirements for participants.

Private Classes

Private Classes

Private cooking classes can be held in the comfort of your own kitchen with a small group of friends or we can look to hire a venue to suit larger groups. Classes are casual and fun with the aim to increase your confidence and knowledge of Southeast Asian cooking, lasting from 2 to 4 hours.

These bespoke cookery classes start from £300 and are ideal for celebrations, family and friends get-togethers, or one-to-one intensive learning. Not only do you gain our family recipes, but you also get to enjoy all the food you cooked at the end too. Class recipes will be tailored to your preferred dishes and can be adapted to suit any dietary requirements.

We will provide all the cooking equipment, aprons, and ingredients, as well as plenty of energy to ensure your private cooking class is a success!
